A message from our Karuvi Directors regarding an update on the building progress of our new Jaffna HQ and the corresponding fundraising walk in London's Richmond park on the 6th June 2026.

Profile: Jayan
Jayan has been a member of Karuvi since 2014. He is totally bling (NLD) and has been since birth. Through his hard work and personal motivation, he has benefitted from a 6 month training program as well as subsidised travel costs, both provided by Karuvi, to fulfil his passion in furniture building and remodelling. Working entirely through his sense of touch and feel he repairs and re-upholsters furniture via appointment across Jaffna.
Active members in society
One of our primary motivations is to train and mentor our members to become active participants in society with the intention for them to eventually make their own income and have the opportunity to support themselves in their own lives.
One of our pathways to achieve this is through the manufacturing and distribution of household goods such as cleaning detergents, namely our very own brand 'Shine', which is available in all regular grocery outlets across Sri Lanka. Our members participate in the production and development of these detergents on a nation-wide scale.
Our new home
We are currently constructing of our new permanent home in Sri Lanka, located in Neervely, Jaffna.
It's purpose is multifaceted and includes:
- Easy access for our members
- A permanent base to more simply organise and manage our growing range of services
- A place to more effectively grow career opportunities & build permanent training classrooms
